New Neighborhood Welcome Signs Installed in Twinbrook, More Coming Soon Across Rockville

The City of Rockville has installed new neighborhood welcome signs in Twinbrook, with additional signs planned for several other communities across the city.

The new Twinbrook signs can be found at Broadwood Drive and Baltimore Road, and at Ardennes Avenue and Twinbrook Parkway, according to the city.

Six additional neighborhood welcome signs are on the way for East Rockville, Lincoln Park and the West End. Rockville credited its Public Works teams with leading the project.

The welcome signs are part of a broader placemaking effort in Rockville. The idea of installing neighborhood welcome signs at key entry points has been discussed for several years. During the city’s 2021 Comprehensive Plan process, the Twinbrook Community Association specifically advocated for neighborhood welcome signs and public art as ways to strengthen placemaking in the community.
