Nordstrom Rack is opening its new location at Congressional Plaza in Rockville today, Thursday, October 29, with grand opening festivities beginning at 8am ahead of the store’s official opening at 9am.
The celebration will include music, surprises and giveaways, with attendees able to enter for a chance to win a $1,000 Nordstrom Rack gift card. The retailer says drawings will take place during the morning, with the grand prize drawing scheduled for 8:45am. No purchase is necessary, and winners must be present at the time of the drawings.
A local coffee cart and other activities are also planned. Nordstrom Rack’s charity partner, Operation Warm, will be on site for a special shopping experience benefiting local families. Nordstrom has donated more than $3 million to Operation Warm, helping provide more than 119,000 coats to children nationwide.
The new 26,000 SF store is located at 1683 Rockville Pike, taking over the former Buy Buy Baby space at Congressional Plaza. Nordstrom Rack is the off-price division of Nordstrom, offering discounted clothing, shoes, accessories, beauty products and home goods, with advertised savings of up to 70% off original prices. The new Rockville store will also offer online order pickup and accept returns from purchases made through Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack’s websites.
The Congressional Plaza location is Nordstrom Rack’s second store in Rockville. Its existing location on Shady Grove Road remains open.
