BoxLunch has opened at Valley Mall in Hagerstown and is preparing to open another Western Maryland location at Francis Scott Key Mall in Frederick.
The Frederick store will be located near Hollister, and a representative from the newly opened Hagerstown location told The MoCoShow that the Frederick location could open by the end of the year.
Launched by Hot Topic in 2015, BoxLunch is a specialty retailer focused on pop culture-themed merchandise, apparel, collectibles, accessories and home goods. The chain carries officially licensed products from a wide range of franchises, including Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, Harry Potter, Studio Ghibli and popular anime series.
Merchandise includes T-shirts and hoodies, Loungefly bags, Funko Pop! figures, enamel pins, accessories, collectibles and pop culture-inspired home décor. The retailer also incorporates philanthropy into its business model through a partnership with Feeding America. For every $10 spent in stores or online, BoxLunch provides the equivalent of one meal to help people facing hunger.
The Hagerstown store is now open at Valley Mall, while the Frederick location at Francis Scott Key Mall is listed as coming soon. An exact opening date for Frederick has not yet been announced.
