7 Brew Coffee Eyes Expansion Into Another Maryland County

7 Brew Coffee is looking to expand its Maryland footprint with its first location in Washington County.

A new 7 Brew drive-thru coffee stand is proposed for Valley Plaza along Massey Boulevard in Hagerstown, a shopping center that is also home to Hobby Lobby, Tractor Supply Co. and several other businesses. It would be approximately 50 miles from parts of Montgomery County, making it the closest location.

According to plans for the property, the new stand would be constructed between the existing standalone McDonald’s and Roy Rogers restaurants. The location remains proposed and has not yet been approved.

If the project moves forward, it would mark 7 Brew’s first Washington County location as the rapidly growing coffee chain continues its expansion in Maryland. The company already has locations elsewhere in the state, including Harford County and the Eastern Shore.

7 Brew operates differently from a traditional sit-down coffee shop. Its locations are generally small, standalone drive-thru stands featuring two lanes and no indoor customer seating. Employees take orders from customers in their vehicles, with the concept emphasizing speed and an upbeat, high-energy atmosphere.

The menu includes traditional coffee drinks such as lattes, mochas, macchiatos, cappuccinos, cold brews and Americanos, along with the chain’s signature 7 Originals. Popular specialty drinks include the Blondie, made with caramel and vanilla breve, and the Smooth 7, featuring Irish cream and white chocolate.

7 Brew also offers its 7 Energy drinks, teas, chai, matcha, lemonades, smoothies, milkshakes and caffeine-free 7 Fizz drinks. Drinks can be extensively customized with different milks, sweeteners and flavor syrups, with many available hot, iced or blended.

The Arkansas-based chain has grown rapidly across the country through its drive-thru-focused model. The proposed Hagerstown location would bring the concept to another part of Maryland as 7 Brew continues to build out its presence in the state.
