Man Sentenced to 45 Years in Prison for Execution-Style Killing

A 21-year-old Montgomery Village man has been sentenced to 45 years in prison for the murder of a 20-year-old man who was lured to Gaithersburg through social media messages and fatally shot during a robbery.

Demari Brown was sentenced Monday, November 2, in Montgomery County Circuit Court to life in prison, with all but 45 years suspended, followed by five years of supervised probation. Brown pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in May for the death of Henry Krishawn Gilbert of Montgomery Village.

On April 26, 2025, Gilbert was found dead inside a green Honda Civic on Brookridge Court in Gaithersburg. The vehicle had struck a curb and was still running when Gilbert was discovered with a gunshot wound to the head.

According to investigators, Brown and co-defendant Jorden Hungerford, 20, arranged to meet Gilbert after Hungerford posed as a female friend through social media messages and requested to purchase $70 worth of marijuana. The defendants then arrived at the location, where they robbed and fatally shot Gilbert.

Hungerford was found guilty by a jury in May of first-degree murder, armed robbery, conspiracy to commit armed robbery and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony. He faces a potential sentence of life in prison plus an additional 60 years.
