The Maryland high school football playoffs are set to begin November 5-7, with the first-round matchups announced across all six classifications. Montgomery County will be represented by 29 teams, including several that earned first-round byes. All matchups available below.
The matchup information comes from the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA), and features several games between Montgomery County programs, particularly in the 4A West Region.
In Class 4A, top-seeded Quince Orchard will host No. 8 Richard Montgomery, while No. 4 Northwest takes on No. 5 Clarksburg. No. 2 Winston Churchill will face No. 7 Walter Johnson, and No. 3 Seneca Valley will meet No. 6 Gaithersburg.
In the 4A North Region, top-seeded Bethesda-Chevy Chase and No. 2 Wheaton have earned first-round byes. No. 5 Montgomery Blair will face No. 4 Paint Branch, while No. 6 James Hubert Blake takes on No. 3 Laurel.
The 4A/3A classification features several additional Montgomery County teams. In the South Region, No. 1 Sherwood has earned a first-round bye, while No. 4 John F. Kennedy will face No. 5 Potomac. No. 7 Albert Einstein takes on No. 2 Oxon Hill, and No. 3 Walt Whitman will meet No. 6 Springbrook.
In the 4A/3A West Region, No. 8 Thomas S. Wootton will face top-seeded Marriotts Ridge, while No. 3 Col. Zadok Magruder takes on No. 6 Gov. Thomas Johnson.
In Class 3A, Damascus earned a first-round bye as the No. 3 seed in the West Region. The region also features No. 5 Northwood traveling to face No. 4 North Hagerstown.
Poolesville will compete in the 2A West Region, where the No. 6 Falcons will face No. 3 River Hill.
