The Montgomery County Department of Transportation (MCDOT) will hold a public meeting on Tuesday, December 8, to discuss proposed sidewalk improvements near the future Dale Drive Purple Line station in Silver Spring.
The meeting will take place from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Silver Spring Civic Center’s Great Hall, located at 1 Veterans Plaza. The proposal calls for installing ADA-compliant sidewalks along several roads within a half-mile of the station to improve pedestrian safety, accessibility and connections to the Purple Line.
MCDOT will present preliminary designs and traffic study findings for proposed sidewalk improvements along portions of Ellsworth Drive, Bennington Drive, Pershing Drive, Woodside Parkway, Greenbrier Drive, Windsor Street, Ashford Road and Dartmouth Avenue.
The meeting will begin with an open house at 6 p.m., followed by a presentation at 6:30 p.m. and an opportunity to ask questions beginning at 7 p.m.
Residents can provide feedback during the meeting or submit comments online or by emailing project manager Jessica Brunson at [email protected]. MCDOT will consider public input before finalizing the project’s design.
A separate public meeting for proposed sidewalk improvements south of Dale Drive will be scheduled at a later date.
