Montgomery County-Based Collars & Co. Returning to Shark Tank for Third Appearance

Montgomery County-based menswear brand Collars & Co. is expected to return to ABC’s “Shark Tank” on Wednesday, November 11, marking its third appearance on the popular business reality show. The upcoming update segment comes exactly four years after founder Justin Baer first appeared on the show in 2022.

Founded in 2021, Collars & Co. is best known for creating the original Dress Collar Polo™, which combines the structured collar of a traditional dress shirt with the comfort of a polo. Baer developed the concept after growing frustrated with wearing stiff, uncomfortable dress shirts beneath sweaters and jackets while working in New York City.

Baer first introduced the Dress Collar Polo to “Shark Tank” viewers on November 11, 2022, securing backing from Mark Cuban and Peter Jones. ABC revisited the business in an update segment on May 5, 2023, and its anticipated return this month will give viewers another look at how the company has grown.

“We started with a simple idea that men should be able to look dressed up without feeling uncomfortable,” said Baer, founder and CEO of Collars & Co. “This has grown into a much bigger wardrobe and a community of customers who wear our clothes every day. Returning to ‘Shark Tank’ is a chance to share how far we’ve come and what we’re building next.”

Since its original appearance, Collars & Co. has expanded well beyond its signature polo shirts. The company’s collection now includes dress shirts, blazers, sweaters, pants, outerwear, shoes, and accessories. The brand has also expanded its retail presence, including a store at Bethesda Row, located at 7126 Bethesda Lane, giving Montgomery County shoppers a chance to explore the products featured on the popular television show in person. The company also operates a New York City location at 182 Columbus Avenue on the Upper West Side.

“There’s a reason Justin has been on Shark Tank three times. Every time he comes back, the business is bigger, the product is better and the customers are more loyal,” said Cuban, an investor in the company.

The upcoming episode is scheduled to air Wednesday, November 11, at 10:01pm on ABC, with streaming available the following day on Hulu. The appearance would mark exactly four years since Baer’s original pitch and provide another update on the growth of the Montgomery County-based business.
