Walgreens at 12222 Veirs Mill Rd in Silver Spring has announced it will be permanently closing on Thursday, November 14.
According to CNN, Walgreens plans to close around 1,200 stores by 2027, including 500 over the next year, as it faces challenges from online competitors and declining prescription drug payments, despite reporting stronger-than-expected sales last quarter.
The Walgreens located at 11215 New Hampshire Ave in the White Oak Shopping Center closed back in February.
