Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a house fire at approximately 5 PM on Tuesday, October 22, in Glenmont.
According to MCFRS Chief Spokesperson Pete Piringer, around 55 firefighters responded to the 3700 block of Brightview St. after a fire broke out in a single-story home due to a malfunctioning bathroom exhaust fan, which ignited nearby materials and spread to the attic.
The fire caused approximately $300,000 in damages and displaced a family of three adults and four children. No injuries were reported.
