Approximately 75 Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) firefighters responded to a townhouse fire on Greenside Terrace in Montgomery Village on Monday, November 4.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the fire, deemed accidental, started outside, involving an electric meter and other combustibles, and spread to the attic. Damage is estimated at approximately $130,000, including $100,000 to the structure. Although smoke alarms were present, they did not activate as there was no interior smoke initially; neighbors called 911 after noticing the fire.
Multiple occupants and pets were displaced and there were no injuries reported.
