Do You Remember the Ice Rink/ Mini Golf Course in Kentlands?

Back in the early 2000s, the plaza area between Crepes-A-Go-Go and Thai Tanium held an ice rink during the winter and a mini golf course in the summer. This venture only lasted for a couple of years, but it was the source of fond memories for many during that time.

According to an archived version of the ice rink’s website, the public could enjoy a “cheap skate” session for a mere $5.50 and skate rentals for $3. A round of mini golf could be enjoyed for $5.50 per person.

The area on the other side of the ice rink was home to Star Diner from 2000 until the diner closed in 2014 with a sign that stated, “Sadly we had to close due to poor economic times. We will miss all of you!” 705 Center Point Way for about 14 years. Following the closure, Eggspectation and IHOP were both in talks to lease the location before Vasili’s Kitchen ended up moving in at the end of 2016 where it still operates.
