Approximately 55 Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) firefighters responded to the scene of a fire in the 1200blk of Gladstone Dr, near Baltimore Rd in Rockville on Tuesday, November 26.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the fire originated in a basement bedroom, likely caused by a candle igniting bedding and furnishings. The fire caused $350K in damage and displaced three adults. Emergency response was delayed due to the occupant notifying a family member before calling 911. Smoke alarms were present and activated in the home.
