Kamran “Cam” Makki, owner of Mackie’s Barbecue, announced that the restaurant would be closing its Clarksburg, Frederick, and Olney locations effective January 10th as the business focuses on growing its catering and online delivery business.
The announcement, shared with us and publicly on social media, states the following:
“After years of dedication, my parents are taking a well-earned step back as they plan for retirement. We have decided to focus on growing our catering and online delivery business, proudly operating out of our Gaithersburg location, where we’ve served the community for 10 years. As part of this transition:
- Starting January 10th, 2025, we will close our Clarksburg, Frederick, and Olney locations to better align with our catering-focused model.
- Over the next few years, we will also reduce our food truck fleet.
Starting January 20th, you can order from our Gaithersburg location – pickup in-person (via 301-685-6565) or online (via DoorDash). As we streamline operations, we’re expanding our efforts to give back to those in need-a mission that’s always been close to our hearts. We look forward to serving you via our commissary in Gaithersburg.”
