With a Winter Storm Watch in effect from 6am Sunday until 9pm for parts of the area on Sunday, we’ve compiled the latest weather maps we could find from the local affiliates of the major television stations (NBC4, FOX5, ABC7, WUSA9). The maps are from Friday evening for the winter storm that’s expected to bring snow our way this Sunday.
Though the Winter Storm Watch is calling for up to 5 inches of snow, the maps (all available below individually) generally show 2-4 inches for most of the area with ABC showing 1-3 inches for central and SE Montgomery County and some surrounding areas.
The latest National Weather Service’s map (also available below) shows about the same amounts. The storm is expected to start Sunday morning and continue through the day. Schools are closed on Monday, January 20th for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day and Inauguration Day so the snow will not have any impact on schools Monday. We will continue to monitor and provide updates as we get closer to the storm.
