Suspect Arrested in Rockville Double Homicide

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) arrested 25-year-old Kaloyan Dimov Stoev in connection with a double homicide on January 17, 2025, involving a male victim found in a vehicle at Shady Grove Road and Research Boulevard and a female victim found nearby at 2 Research Court, both with gunshot wounds.

According to MCPD, “At approximately 3:16 a.m., a 1st District officer was on routine patrol when he observed a white BMW stopped at the intersection of Shady Grove Road and Research Boulevard. Upon further investigation, officers located a dead adult male inside the BMW and bullet holes on the exterior of the vehicle.

At approximately 7:40 a.m., officers from the Rockville City Police Department responded to the parking lot of 2 Research Court for the report of a dead person. Upon arrival, officers located a dead adult female with apparent gunshot wounds and shell casings in the parking lot.

During the course of the investigation, detectives determined that these two homicides are connected and identified 25-year-old Kaloyan Dimov Stoev, of an unknown address, as the suspect. At approximately 12:00 p.m., detectives located the suspect in Rockville and took him into custody. The decedents were transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore, where an autopsy will be conducted to officially determine the cause and manner of death.”
