Watkins Mill HS Students Volunteer At Their Younger Siblings’ Elementary Schools

In a heartfelt tribute to Martin Luther King Jr., students from Watkins Mill High School took part in a significant Service Day, volunteering at the elementary schools attended by their younger siblings.

Schools participating in this initiative included Stedwick Elementary School, Southlake Elementary School, Watkins Mill Elementary School, and Whetstone Elementary School.

Grecia Albarracin, the community liaison for Watkins Mill High School, expressed her enthusiasm about the event’s success. High school students actively engaged in classroom activities, assisted teachers, and served as positive role models for the younger students, fostering a spirit of mentorship and community support.

“At the Watkins Mill Cluster, our mission is to encourage students to stay engaged and build a strong sense of community,” Albarracin stated. “We are committed to creating positive role models and fostering meaningful connections that extend beyond the classroom. Events like Big-Little Day exemplify our dedication to mentorship, service, and unity.”

Albarracin emphasized the importance of collaboration within the community, saying, “It really does take a village, and Montgomery Village is truly a village. We are committed to working together to support and uplift our students, creating a nurturing environment where they can thrive. We look forward to continuing this tradition and strengthening the bonds that make our community so special.”
