Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a fire on the deck of a two-story home on Lewis Drive in Damascus around 1:30am on Monday.
According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the fire was caused by discarded smoking materials, with no fire or smoke inside the house. The sleeping homeowner saw flickering flames outside and called 911. There were and no injuries were reported.
