A serious collision occurred on the Clara Barton Parkway near Cabin John Parkway, prompting a swift response from the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) on Saturday evening. According to spokesperson Pete Piringer, two vehicles were found down a 40-foot embankment as emergency responders arrived on the scene.
In total, four patients were evaluated, with at least two suffering from traumatic injuries. Public safety reported Cordell Pugh has let us know that all four patients were taken to area trauma centers. The situation necessitated a technical rescue operation, as responders worked to evacuate individuals safely from the difficult terrain.
Units from MCFRS, including 710, 730, 726, 750, 741B, and 752, have been deployed to manage the incident. As a result of the rescue operations, some lanes on the Clara Barton Parkway have been blocked, causing delays for motorists in the area. Authorities urge drivers to exercise caution and seek alternate routes while the situation is being addressed.
