Update: Four Hospitalized With Non-Life Threatening Injuries After Crash Causes Two Vehicles To Fall 40 Feet Down Embankment

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services Chief spokesperson Pete Piringer provided an update about a crash that occurred at approximately 7:30 PM on Saturday evening on the Clara Barton Parkway that involved two vehicles that veered off the roadway and down an embankment.


Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) crews conducted a slope rescue to evacuate the patients. A total of four individuals were transported to the hospital, including three classified as Priority 2 trauma patients (serious, but not life-threatening injuries) and one as Priority 3 (minor injuries), all in non-life-threatening condition. The cause of the crash has not been provided.

Per our report on Saturday, a serious collision occurred on the Clara Barton Parkway near Cabin John Parkway, prompting a swift response from the Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Service (MCFRS) on Saturday evening. According to spokesperson Pete Piringer, two vehicles were found down a 40-foot embankment as emergency responders arrived on the scene. The situation necessitated a technical rescue operation, as responders worked to evacuate individuals safely from the difficult terrain.

 

Units from MCFRS, including 710, 730, 726, 750, 741B, and 752, were deployed to manage the incident. As a result of the rescue operations, some lanes on the Clara Barton Parkway were blocked for an extended period of time, causing delays for motorists in the area.
