A 14-year-old has been arrested and charged with attempted robbery and assault after attacking a 15-year-old in the Glenmont area on March 20, 2025.
The incident began on a Ride-On bus and escalated into a physical altercation inside a McDonald’s, where the suspect continued to demand the victim’s belongings before being apprehended by police.
According to MCPD, “At approximately 6:35 p.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2025, officers from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 4th District responded to a McDonald’s in the 12300 block of Georgia Avenue for the report of an assault in progress.
Upon arrival, officers observed what appeared to be two juveniles fighting behind the counter.
The investigation revealed that a 15-year-old victim was on a Ride-On bus when he was approached by the 14-year-old suspect, who demanded personal property. When the 15-year-old got off the bus, the suspect followed. As the victim ran into the McDonald’s to seek help, the suspect followed and began to assault him, continuing to demand his belongings.
The 14-year-old was quickly apprehended and transported to the 4th District Station, where he was charged with attempted robbery and assault. He was referred to the Department of Juvenile Services before being released to his guardians.”
