Northwest High School Wins Hot 99.5’s “Best High School in the DMV” Contest

Radio station Hot 99.5 (WIHT FM) just concluded its annual “Best High School in the DMV” contest on Instagram and Germantown’s Northwest High School was crowned the winner of the contest.

Six Montgomery County high schools made the “Sweet 16” of the tournament– Montgomery Blair, Northwest, Northwood, Rockville, Wheaton, and Quince Orchard– but Northwest High School, in Germantown, advanced to make it to the finals where the school defeated VA’s Lake Braddock High School, located in Burke. VA.

The schools included in the tournament were selected after receiving the most nominations and the winning high school will be awarded with $1,000. Voting took place in Hot 99.5’s Instagram page’s stories. Hot 99.5 (WIHT)  broadcasts out of the IHeartMedia studios at 1801 Rockville Pike in Rockville. The radio station shared on Instagram today that it “can’t wait to plan our celebrations with you. Stay tuned!”
