One Maryland Sandwich Included in List of ‘25 East Coast Sandwiches Worth The Roadtrip’

Chowhound, a website for food aficionados and “anyone who wants to know the absolute best way to prepare a dish and the science behind why that’s so.” has created a list of ‘25 East Coast Sandwiches Worth The Roadtrip’ with one Maryland sandwich featured.

Jimmy’s Famous Seafood in Baltimore offers the only Maryland sandwich on the list– their Crabcake sandwich. Last year, Food & Wine magazine ranked it the best in the country, and The MoCoShow named it the best in the state. The sandwich, featuring its signature crabcake, will be available in Montgomery County at our Mother’s Day event hosted at Lone Oak Brewery in Olney, MD, on May 10th.

Chowhound writes, “In Maryland, the blue crab reigns supreme, thanks to the Chesapeake Bay, an estuary (the largest in the country) nestled between Maryland and Virginia. The makeup of the bay is perfect for blue crabs to thrive. This is the best meat for crab cakes, and sandwiches are a great way to enjoy the tasty treats. Jimmy’s Famous Seafood in Baltimore, Maryland, has a menu featuring an incredible amount of fresh seafood, but its crab cake sandwich is a true winner. Coming in at 8 ounces, the sandwich is topped with crisp lettuce and creamy bay sauce — a zesty, tangy condiment that’s just right for crab cakes.
