Eager Fans Await Fuddruckers Return to Maryland

In August 2024, we shared the news of Fuddruckers planning to return to Maryland and Washington DC, with new locations originally slated to open in the fall. The DC location opened in March, and eager customers now await the Maryland reopening.

Fuddruckers is set to return to Maryland with its upcoming location at 819 Ellsworth Drive in Downtown Silver Spring– the same site that has remained empty since the restaurant closed in December 2019. When reached for comment, Fuddruckers stated they are “still working through some things to make sure we give Silver Spring the best Fudds experience.”

Although no specific opening date has been provided yet, the location held its hearing for a beer, wine, and liquor license last November and still remains on track for a comeback in Silver Spring. In 2021, we reported that Fuddruckers franchisee Nicholas Perkins and his Black Titan Holdings group had purchased the restaurant chain for $18.5 million. This move set up the potential return to Maryland, which is now happening.

“We’re excited to be purchasing Fuddruckers and look forward to working with Fuddruckers’ many dedicated, highly capable franchisees to further build this brand. As a Fuddruckers franchisee, I have a vested interest in ensuring that all Fuddruckers franchisees have the resources, infrastructure, and operational and marketing support they need to maximize their return on investment. This strategic alignment, when combined with the fact that we sell the ‘World’s Greatest Hamburgers’, will ensure the long-term success of the brand and our franchisees”, said Perkins.
