Rockville Eagle Scout Completes Park Improvement Project at King Farm

The City of Rockville recently shared that Eagle Scout Samuel “Sam” Gregory, with support from Troop 773, completed a service project at King Farm Park playground by designing and installing a retaining wall and drainage pipe. The project, developed in coordination with the city’s Recreation and Parks staff, aims to prevent sediment runoff and help preserve the playground surface for years to come.

Per the City of Rockville: “Eagle Scout Samuel “Sam” Gregory, with support from fellow Scouts in Troop 773, recently completed a service project at King Farm Park playground to help protect and preserve the site. Sam researched the best practices for retaining walls, then designed one specifically for the park.

He worked closely with Rockville’s Recreation and Parks staff to develop materials and tools lists before leading the installation of a new retaining wall and drainage pipe. The project is designed to prevent sediment runoff and maintain the integrity of the playground surface for years to come.”
