Coffee Republic is expanding to Bethesda, with a new location planned for the ground floor of the Bethesda Place apartment building, connected to the upcoming Lidl grocery store. The news was first reported by Robert Dyer.

Back in December 2023, we let you know that Aloha Poke, a Chicago-based poke restaurant chain, signed on to open its first Maryland location in Rockville’s King Farm neighborhood. Signage went up in the windows of the space at 800 Pleasant Dr. #100 in the spring of 2024, but there was never any additional movement. Now, it has been confirmed that Aloha Poke will not open, with a new tenant lined up.
Fans of Mediterranean cuisine can finally mark their calendars, AYSE Meze Lounge will officially open its doors in Rockville’s King Farm neighborhood on Thursday, September 18th.
Rockville is moving forward with plans to revitalize the historic King Farm Farmstead, with a draft master plan set to be presented at a September 29 work session, focusing on adaptive reuse, historical preservation, and potential community uses such as event spaces, markets, art studios, and recreational programming. The City of Rockville recently shared that Eagle Scout Samuel “Sam” Gregory, with support from Troop 773, completed a service project at King Farm Park playground by designing and installing a retaining wall and drainage pipe. The project, developed in coordination with the city’s Recreation and Parks staff, aims to prevent sediment runoff and help preserve the playground surface for years to come. (more…)
