Earlier this year we let you know that Planet Fitness announced it will be opening new locations at 6881 New Hampshire Ave. in Takoma Park (now open) and 2201 Randolph Rd. in Wheaton (Glenmont). The Glenmont location, which will be next to the existing Lidl, has announced its opening date.
Per Montgomery County “The Wheaton Arts & Entertainment District and surrounding areas will have a full schedule of winter events and holiday celebrations for all ages.

Update: The barricaded suspect inside of JCPenney has been taken into custody. The store will be close for the remainder of the day.
Montgomery County police responded to Westfield Wheaton Mall (11160 Veirs Mill Rd) for the report of a barricaded person inside of JC Penney on Wednesday, December 6.

The Anchor Inn was one of the most popular restaurants in MoCo for 50 years. Established in 1954 in the heart of Wheaton, The Anchor Inn was one of the first places in Montgomery County to apply for and receive their liquor license in 1964.

Thomas Edison High School of Technology is unique among Montgomery County public high schools. Students enrolled in all MCPS comprehensive high schools may apply for enrollment in one of Edison’s eighteen highly acclaimed career and technology education programs. The Cosmetology students will be opening the Edison Salon (12501 Dalewood Dr. Silver Spring MD 20906) on Wednesday, December 6 to hold a SkillsUSA fundraiser. From 8:30am until 8:30pm, the student operated salon will offer limited services for $20 each, such as:
