New and Coming Soon to King Farm (January 2024 Edition)

Rockville’s King Farm neighborhood is seeing some revitalization with new tenants signing on to join mainstays like Safeway, Nagoya Sushi, Fontina Grille, and Botanero. Below you’ll see a list of recently opened and coming soon tenants to the shopping center (as of January 2024):

American Family Care (AFC) Urgent Care: AFC Urgent Care has signed on to take the space that was previously home to Capital One Bank at 802 Pleasant Drive in King Farm.

Aloha Poke, a Chicago-based poke restaurant chain, will open its first Maryland location in Rockville’s King Farm neighborhood. Aloha Poke Co. previously announced that it will be opening a Gaithersburg location sometime in 2023, but did not mention a specific location. It is unclear at this  time if the King Farm location in Rockville is taking the place of the planned Gaithersburg location. Aloha Poke is a fast-casual style restaurant that serves “fresh-packed and tasty bowls filled with sushi-grade fish and Hawaiian-inspired raw ingredients.” Aloha currently has a a DC location at 1333 19th St in NW, Washington, DC.

Baja Fresh: Montgomery County’s only Baja Fresh restaurant, located at 302 King Farm Blvd. Unit 150, has been open for business since 2000. The owner tells us he has just signed a new lease to remain in King Farm, and has started putting over $150,000 into renovations. New flooring, updates decor, and a new salsa bar are among the upgrades as Baja Fresh in King Farm prepares to continue operating successfully in the Rockville neighborhood. The restaurant was closed for two days (January 4th and 5th) for the major portion of the renovations. It has since reopened for online, carry out, and third party orders, with the dining room remaining closed until the renovations are completed soon.

Don Chicken, a Korean fried chicken restaurant, is opening its first Montgomery County location at 404 King Farm Blvd Ste. 7130 in King Farm.The restaurant chain, which was established seven years ago, will be taking over the space previously occupied by Mahshad Modern Persian Kitchen. The menu consists of a variety of fried chicken options and can be seen here. Don Chicken also has a nearby location in the H-Mart food court in Frederick. The restaurant is expected to open sometime in 2024.

Fruit N Boba Tea, a shop that specializes in making fruit tea with fresh fruit, bubble tea with imported ingredients from Taiwan, smoothies made with fresh fruit and all natural sweeteners, as well as non-dairy frozen yogurt, is coming to King Farm. It will be taking over the vacant space located next to Montgomery County’s last remaining Baja Fresh, at 302 King Farm Blvd. Ste. 130.

Ming’s, a new restaurant serving Chinese cuisine, is now open at 800 Pleasant Dr. Suite 120 in Rockville’s King Farm neighborhood. Ming’s is located in the space that was previously home to Imperial Chinese Gardens.  Menu specialties include Hunan Style Bamboo Shoots, Kongbao Jumbo Shrimp, House Style Cumin Lamb, and Sauteed Beef Intestines.  Full menu can be seen here. The restaurant is open 11am-9:30pm Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 11am-9am Sunday, and closed Tuesdays.

Pet Wants is coming soon to 302 King Farm Blvd Ste 130 in Rockville, near Baja Fresh. Pet Wants offers pet food that contains no corn, wheat, soy, or animal byproducts.  Pet Wants Rockville has been in business since 2021 operating as a delivery service and vendor at local farmers markets, and this will be its first brick-and-mortar location. The store is now targeting a mid-February opening and plans to host regular pet adoption events with local rescues.
