Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes following a severe traffic incident that has closed all lanes of northbound I-270 near MD-109 (Old Hundred Road). According to Alert Montgomery at 7:07am Wednesday morning, the incident is expected to cause significant delays in the area.
Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) reported that the collision occurred in the vicinity of Dr. Perry Road, affecting the Ijamsville/Urbana area. The incident involves an overturned tractor-trailer, further complicating the situation on this busy stretch of highway.
Emergency response teams, including units A735, RS729, T734, PE735, BC705, and AT735 from MCFRS, are on the scene assisting with the accident. Additionally, the Frederick County Division of Fire and Rescue Services (FCDFRS) is providing support in managing the incident.
