Update: Nathaniel Bettis was located safe and unharmed.
Detectives from the Montgomery County Department of Police – 3rd District Investigative Section are asking for the public’s assistance in locating Nathaniel Bettis, a missing 77-year-old man from Silver Spring.
Bettis was last seen on Thursday, July 14, 2025, at approximately 6 p.m., in the 13600 block of Sir Thomas Way in Silver Spring. He is 5-feet, 11-inches tall, approx. 190 lbs., with brown eyes, gray hair and gray beard. He was last seen wearing a blue plaid shirt, green baseball cap with a green and yellow beaded bracelet. He may be driving a white 2014 Nissan Maxima with two dents on the rear passenger side and NY tag KWP2094. He may also be using a walker.
