Montgomery County Council Schedules September Hearings on University Blvd Plan, Bikeway Parking Ban

The Montgomery County Council will hold a series of public hearings in September on new legislative items and planning proposals, including two hearings on the University Boulevard Corridor Plan (Sept. 10 in Silver Spring and Sept. 16 in Rockville), as well as hearings on a proposed parking ban in bikeways and a $100,000 transportation study appropriation for the Clarksburg to Montgomery Village Corridor.

Per Montgomery County Government: “The County Council will hold public hearings to receive testimony on new items introduced to the Council as follows:

Sept. 9, 2025 at 1:30 p.m.

Deadline to sign up to speak is Sept. 8 at 2 p.m.

  • The University Boulevard Corridor (UBC) Plan public hearing on Wednesday, Sept. 10, 2025, at 7 p.m. will take place at the Montgomery Blair High School Auditorium, 51 University Blvd. East, Silver Spring, MD 20901.
    • The UBC Plan focuses on a three-mile stretch of University Boulevard (MD 193), between I-495 and Wheaton, to address community needs related to traffic safety, regional connectivity, environmental sustainability, corridor-focused growth, and economic development.

Sept. 16, 2025 at 7 p.m.

Deadline to sign up to speak is Sept. 8 at 12 p.m.

  • The Council will hold a second public hearing on the University Boulevard Corridor (UBC) Plan on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2025, at 7 p.m., in the third floor Council Hearing Room at the Council Office Building, 100 Maryland Ave., Rockville, MD 20850. 
    • The UBC Plan focuses on a three-mile stretch of University Boulevard (MD 193), between I-495 and Wheaton, to address community needs related to traffic safety, regional connectivity, environmental sustainability, corridor-focused growth, and economic development.

Sept. 30, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. 

Deadline to sign up to speak is Sept. 29 at 2 p.m.
