Fire in Germantown Causes $220K in Damage, Displaces Five Adults

A significant fire incident occurred around 11 am Monday morning on the 11200 block of Cool Breeze Place, near Scenery Drive, Germantown, affecting a three-story single-family residence.


According to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) Chief spokesperson Pete Piringer, the fire originated in a small plastic shed used for storing lawn care equipment. The likely ignition source has been identified as an electric mower battery pack.

The fire resulted in extensive damage estimated at $220,000 and has displaced five adults from their home. Emergency services responded promptly to the scene, working to contain the blaze and reduce further damage to the property and surrounding area.
