Shooting Suspect Arrested on Attempted Murder and Assault Charges

The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) has arrested 35-year-old Joseph Gordon in connection with a July 28 shooting in the 11400 block Lockwood Drive in White Oak that injured a 40-year-old man. Gordon is charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault, and multiple handgun-related offenses and is being held without bond.

According to MCPD, “On Monday, July 28, 2025, at approximately 9:46 a.m., 3rd District officers responded to the location for the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located a 40-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound to the arm. Officers provided life-saving measures to the victim until Montgomery County Fire and Rescue arrived and transported him to an area hospital in serious condition.

During the investigation, Gordon was developed as the suspect, and it was determined that there had been an ongoing dispute between him and the victim. Gordon was arrested on Wednesday, August 20, 2025, and transported to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, first-degree assault and multiple handgun related charges. He is being held without bond.”
