Garage Fire Caused by Electric Golf Caddy Batteries Results in $300K Damage

Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) responded to a garage fire at a two-story single-family home on Mimosa Farm Court near Glen Mill Road in Travilah on Friday morning.

According to Chief Spokesperson for MCFRS Pete Piringer, the fire, which spread into the main structure, caused more than $300,000 in damage and was determined to be accidental, likely involving lithium batteries from an electric golf caddy/cart. One occupant and two dogs escaped safely, and no injuries were reported.
