Two Maryland Restaurants Recognized in “The Best Thai Restaurants in DC” List

Two Maryland Thai restaurants (both in Montgomery County) earned a spot on Eater DC’s most list of “The Best Thai Restaurants in D.C.” While there are many wonderful Thai restaurants in the county, the publication’s recognition highlights the vibrant and authentic flavors available at these two restaurants just outside the nation’s capital.

Thai Chef: Located at 29 Maryland Ave. in Rockville, Thai Chef is known for its “Bangkok-style vendor food,” bringing the lively and authentic experience of a Thai street festival to its patrons. The restaurant, which also has a DC location, has been a local favorite since opening its doors in Rockville Town Square in 2021. Reviewers and customers consistently praise its creative and classic dishes, along with its unique and colorful atmosphere.

Ruan Thai: A long-standing staple in Wheaton, Ruan Thai at 11407 Amherst Ave. has been serving up authentic Thai cuisine since 1998. The family-owned restaurant is celebrated for its traditional flavors and dishes, with many diners singling out the excellent pad Thai and the tom kha soup. The restaurant’s inclusion on the Eater DC list solidifies its reputation as a go-to spot for genuine Thai food in the area.
