Dog Resuscitated as Major Fire Displaces Family

On Saturday, August 30th, a fire engulfed a two-story home on the 2300 block of Cranberry Terrace in Aspen Hill. According to updates from Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS), the call for assistance came in at 6:19 p.m., when flames were already visible on the first and second floors of the residence. Fortunately, no occupants were present at the time of the fire.

Firefighters arrived promptly and immediately initiated a thorough search and fire extinguishing operation. During their efforts, they discovered an adult dog, which was part of the family living in the home. The dog was rescued, resuscitated, and quickly transported to a local animal hospital for further care. It was a successful rescue amidst challenging conditions, as the firefighters navigated the blaze to ensure everyone’s safety.

The family, composed of three adults and three children, is now displaced due to the damage caused by the fire. MCFRS continue to investigate the cause of the fire, ensuring thorough procedures are followed to prevent future occurrences.

By 8:03pm, the fire was declared under control, but firefighters remained on the scene to secure the area and investigate further. Residents of the neighborhood have been advised to expect a continued fire department presence in the area for the next several hours as the investigation continues.
