The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) is investigating an early Sunday double stabbing that occurred at approximately 2:34am on Sunday in the 19500 block of Amaranth Drive in Germantown, where multiple juvenile male suspects reportedly brandished BB guns and two adult men sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
According to MCPD, ‘The investigation determined that the incident involved multiple juvenile male suspects who brandished BB guns and began shooting at a group of people. During a confrontation, one adult male victim was stabbed in the back, and a second adult male victim sustained a slashing wound to his arm. Both victims were transported to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
Upon officers’ arrival, a large group of suspects ran from the location and others drove away in vehicles toward the dead end of Amaranth Drive. A perimeter was established, Maryland State Police provided helicopter support, and 1st District officers and Maryland-National Capital Park Police assisted in the response. After an extensive search, approximately 15 individuals were detained but no arrests were made. This remains an active and ongoing investigation.
