The Montgomery County Police Department (MCPD) is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect involved in an assault and theft in Wheaton.
According to MCPD, on Monday, August 18, 2025, around 9:00 p.m., a man entered the Giant Food in the 2900 block of University Boulevard West and stole Tide Pods. When security attempted to stop him, the suspect pulled out a knife before fleeing the scene. The suspect is described as a Black male with black hair and a thin build.
