Olney’s Winter City Lights opens for the 2025 season on Friday, November 28th. Organizers describe it as the “largest and most spectacular light show in the Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia and Baltimore areas,” offering a magical experience for all ages. Guests can expect elaborate light tunnels, animated displays, festive music, and plenty of photo-worthy moments throughout the scenic drive.
Previously ranked #1 Christmas Light Display by Parade Magazine and #2 “Most Magical Christmas Lights Display in the USA” by Country Living, the experience continues to draw visitors from across the region. The event features over one million twinkling lights spread across 10 acres, transforming the grounds into a winter wonderland where it’s “guaranteed to snow every night.”
Olney Winter City Lights takes place at 4501 Olney Laytonsville Rd., Olney, MD 20832, and will run nightly through late December. Tickets are typically available online or at the gate on select nights, with visitors encouraged to arrive early to enjoy one of the region’s most dazzling holiday traditions.
