Montgomery County Thanksgiving Parade Returns on Saturday, November 22nd

A beloved Montgomery County tradition is back to kick off the holiday season. The Montgomery County Thanksgiving Parade will return to Downtown Silver Spring on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 10:00am.

Held annually on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, the parade brings festive fun for all ages with glittering floats, high school marching bands, colorful dance troupes, 12-foot inflatable turkeys, and an appearance by Santa Claus himself.

The celebration begins at the corner of Ellsworth Drive and Fenton Street, traveling south on Georgia Avenue and ending at Silver Spring Avenue. Rain or shine, thousands of spectators are expected to line the streets to watch the spectacle that officially ushers in the holiday season for Montgomery County.

Presented by Montgomery County and the Silver Spring Urban District, the parade is one of the region’s longest-running holiday events, drawing participants and visitors from across the D.C. area. Families are encouraged to arrive early to secure a good viewing spot and enjoy pre-parade entertainment throughout downtown Silver Spring. Additional information can be found here.
