Takoma Park teens have a brand-new place to hang out after school. The Teen Lounge at the Takoma Park Community Center is officially open, offering a refreshed space designed specifically for students in grades 6-12.
The new lounge is located in the former Game Room, serving as a temporary home while the original undergoes repairs. The City of Takoma Park announced the opening with an enthusiastic message: “TEENS, WE’RE OPEN! The Teen Lounge is officially ready for you—and trust us, you’re gonna love it!”
Open Monday through Friday from 3 to 6 p.m., the lounge provides a safe and welcoming environment for teens to gather, unwind, and get involved in activities after school. What Teens Can Expect:

- Games and entertainment
City staff encourage teens to “pull up after school, chill with friends, try something new, and make this your spot.”
