Kneads Bakeshop & Cafe, a family-owned artisan bakery based in Baltimore, is set to open its fourth location in the second quarter of 2026 at The Shops at Wisconsin Place in Chevy Chase, taking over the former Peet’s Coffee space, first reported by QSR Magazine. The bakery currently operates three locations in Baltimore.
The menu will feature all-day breakfast and lunch options, including egg plates and sandwiches, salads, soups, burgers, paninis, and specialty dishes such as French toast, biscuits and gravy, and quiche. Kneads will also offer a full bakery and café selection with artisan breads, croissants, danishes, bagels, pastries, coffee and espresso drinks, teas, seasonal beverages, and fresh juices.
According to the company, Kneads was created by the next generation of the Paterakis family to share a baking heritage that began in Baltimore in 1943 with the founding of H&S Bakery. The concept blends traditional artisan baking with modern techniques in a neighborhood café setting.
