TJ Maxx, located at 8661 Colesville Rd. inside Ellsworth Place mall in Downtown Silver Spring, will close permanently on January 3, 2026.
Signage now posted at the store advertises 20% off the ticketed price on most items, though some exclusions apply. A store representative shared that inventory is currently limited as the location winds down operations.
The store opened in the 24,000SF space in November 2015, bringing approximately 60 full and part-time jobs to the area. A newer TJ Maxx location opened in Burtonsville in March 2024, though that location is ten miles away. A potential replacement tenant has not yet been named.
