All lanes of Route 355 have reopened following roadway repairs tied to a broken water main in the area.
The reopening comes after WSSC crews completed repairs to a 24-inch water main and fully restored water service to impacted customers. The break was reported around 8:13 a.m. Friday and undermined the roadway, forcing Route 355 to be shut down in both directions.
After the water main repair was completed, WSSC and roadway crews remained on site to address damage to the road surface. The section of Route 355 between Game Preserve Road and High Point Drive, which remained impassable as of Sunday morning, has now fully reopened to traffic in both directions.
