Beallsville Road (MD-109) remains closed Sunday afternoon in Poolesville after a roughly 100-foot tree came down, damaging three to four utility and telephone lines.
According to Chief Spokesperson for Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Services (MCFRS) Pete Piringer, a few hundred residents are without power in the area and there are no reported injuries. Motorists should avoid Beallsville Road between Jerusalem Road and Darnestown Road while crews work to clear the scene and restore service.
We will provide an update if additional verified information becomes available.
