Winter Weather Advisory Issued For Parts of Maryland

A Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect this morning for parts of northwest Montgomery County, including areas like Germantown, Clarksburg, Poolesville, and Damascus.

According to the National Weather Service, the advisory covers Northwest Montgomery County along with Northwest Howard, Carroll, Northern Baltimore, and Northwest Harford counties. Snow accumulations of 1 to 2 inches are expected, with the advisory set to remain in effect until noon today.

Periods of moderate to locally heavy snow have already caused some roadways to become snow covered and hazardous, particularly on secondary roads and untreated surfaces. Drivers should plan for slippery conditions during the morning commute and allow extra time if traveling.

Snow is expected to taper off quickly around midday, with conditions gradually improving as the afternoon progresses. Residents are urged to use caution on the roads and stay aware of changing conditions through the morning hours.
