One of Montgomery Parks’ most beloved seasonal traditions is set to return this spring. The Butterfly Experience will once again take flight at Brookside Gardens from Wednesday, April 1, through Monday, Sept. 7, 2026, with timed tickets now on sale.
The popular exhibit transforms the Brookside Gardens Conservatory into an immersive environment filled with hundreds of live butterflies fluttering freely among vibrant flowers.
Visitors can expect close-up encounters with butterflies from The Americas, Africa, and Asia, creating a colorful and interactive experience for all ages. Throughout the exhibit, trained staff and volunteers share insights into the butterfly life cycle, the process of metamorphosis, and the vital role pollinators play in healthy ecosystems. Guests will also learn simple ways to help butterflies thrive in home gardens.
“The Butterfly Experience isn’t just an event, it’s a cherished community celebration,” said Stephanie Oberle, director of Brookside Gardens. “This immersive exhibit surrounds you in a breathtaking display of color and movement, while inspiring simple, meaningful actions we can all take to protect and support pollinators.”
The exhibit runs daily from 9am to 3pm inside the Brookside Gardens Conservatory at 1800 Glenallan Avenue in Wheaton. Tickets range from $10.99 for children ages 3 to 12 and $15.99 for ages 13 and older, with children under 3 admitted free with a ticket. Timed-entry tickets can be purchased in advance online or onsite via QR code, and availability is limited.
