Update: Saks has since announced the upcoming closures of Saks Fifth Avenue in Chevy Chase and Tysons Galleria.
Saks OFF 5TH is closing the majority of its locations nationwide, including the store at Clarksburg Premium Outlets in Montgomery County.
The chain is the outlet division of Saks Fifth Avenue and is known for offering discounted designer clothing, shoes, accessories, and home goods.
According to Saks Global, the decision follows a review of its off-price business, leading the company to close most Saks OFF 5TH stores along with the remaining Last Call locations. Clearance sales and markdowns have begun at affected stores as part of the wind down. The Saks Fifth Avenue department store at 5555 Wisconsin Avenue in Chevy Chase is not part of the closures.
