Saks Global has announced another round of store closures that will impact the DC region, including the Saks Fifth Avenue location at 5555 Wisconsin Avenue in Chevy Chase, Maryland.
The announcement came March 6, 2026, when Saks Global revealed plans to close 12 Saks Fifth Avenue department stores and three Neiman Marcus locations. The decision builds on an earlier round of closures announced February 10 as the company continues restructuring its retail footprint.
Among the stores slated to close is the Saks Fifth Avenue at Friendship Heights in Chevy Chase. The nearby Saks Fifth Avenue store at Tysons Galleria is also included in the latest round of closures. A specific closing date has not yet been announced for either location.
Earlier this year, Saks Global said it conducted a “thorough review of its off-price business” before deciding to wind down most Saks OFF 5TH retail locations along with the remaining Neiman Marcus Last Call stores. This includes the Saks OFF 5TH location at Clarksburg Premium Outlets, where clearance sales and markdowns have already begun at affected off-price stores as the company moves through the shutdown process.
Saks Global has not yet released a timeline for when the Chevy Chase and Tysons stores will officially close.
