Bruster’s Real Ice Cream in Gaithersburg is inviting the community to celebrate a sweet tradition while supporting local youth in foster care during its annual PJ Day.
The event will take place on Saturday, March 7 at the Bruster’s located at 18519 N Frederick Ave. As part of the store’s Customer Appreciation Day, guests can receive a free small waffle cone in one of two ways: by wearing pajamas to the shop or by donating a new pair of pajamas.
The Gaithersburg location is partnering with Comfort Cases, a nonprofit organization that supports youth entering or transitioning within the foster care system. The organization provides backpacks and duffle bags filled with essential items to children who often arrive in foster care with few belongings. Each Comfort Case typically includes items such as a stuffed animal, blanket, set of pajamas, age-appropriate book, journal, pens, toiletries, and other personal care items. The children also receive a new duffle bag so they do not have to carry their belongings in trash bags.
Customers can participate by showing up in their favorite pajamas to receive a free small waffle cone, donating a new pair of pajamas to benefit youth in foster care, or doing both.
